Healthway Perth Heat Scouts Day
Location: NSR Hire Ballpark
When: Sunday, December 7th | 9am – 12pm
Age Groups: 9-12 years old & 13-17 years old
Pricing: $110 + GST
Come showcase your skills in front of the Healthway Perth Heat players and coaches. The athletes will run through a variety of skills/tests that are typically used by scouts or teams to evaluate in identifying talent.
This will be a fun day where kids can showcase their skills using advanced technology and receive a player report card.
Tests will include:
- 60yd sprint with a 10yd split time
- T-drill agility test
- Throwing velocity
- Hitting bat speed
- Hitting metrics using trackman data
U14 Invitational Tournament

Dates: Friday 02/01/2026 – Monday 05/01/2026 (4 day event)
Age Group: U14 (Born 2012 or 2013)
Pricing: $115 per player (used to subsidise the US tour)
Enter as a team (8–12 teams invited) or individual player (we’ll place you in a squad).
Please note: All players must be registered with BA & BWA.

Overview
The Perth Heat, in partnership with Baseball WA and BPSG, propose to host an Under 14 Invitational Tournament at Baseball Park during the first week of January 2026. This event will address a recognised gap in the Australian baseball development pathway by identifying and preparing elite U14 talent for international competition.
Key Objectives
- Provide a structured, competitive tournament environment for U14 players.
- Identify and develop elite young talent through a professional evaluation process.
- Select a representative Perth Heat Futures Squad (potentially two teams) to tour the US in July 2026.
- Build long-term development and international exposure pathways.
- Create accessible and inclusive opportunities via low-cost tournament entry and support with US travel fundraising.
Event Details
- Teams: 16 teams from across WA and Australia.
- Individuals: Players can register individually and will be placed into a team.
- Player fee: $115 per player – Covers Tournament Costs excluding umpires. Balance of fees remaining after costs will be used to subsidise the trip to the US in July.
- Format: Round-robin into a playoff bracket.
- Scouting: Official selectors present to evaluate talent across the week.
- Umpires: Teams to provide their own Umpire.
- Scorer: Teams to provide their own Scorer.
Pathway to US Tour
- Selection: At the tournament’s conclusion, 15–20 players will be selected to form the Perth Futures Squad 2026.
- Development: Ongoing training and support throughout the 2026 ABL season and offseason, hosted by Perth Heat staff and aligned coaches.
- US Tour: Squad will travel to the United States in July 2026, participating in games and showcase events against high-level American competition.
- Cost Efficiency: Tour will be structured to minimise costs to families, leveraging BPSG’s connections with US-based teams, coaches, and facilities.
